WHAT ARE THE PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS?
Improvements for safety and transportation choices include designated bicycle lanes and new sidewalks and lighted crosswalks, along with new and improved transit stops that meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance standards. Traffic flow will be improved at the 7th Ave. intersection with a turn lane and signal changes. The roadway pavement north of 7th Avenue will be reconstructed with the addition of curbs, gutters and associated drainage inlets. Monument-style welcome signs will also be installed.

Corridor Study – Completed in 2015
Deadline for Questions and Input – on 75% design – May 1, 2020
Final Design Approved | Construction Plan Presentation – June 2020
Consruction Begins – Mid-Summer 2020
Construction Complete – Late-Summer 2021
WHAT WILL THE TRAFFIC IMPACTS BE DURING CONSTRUCTION?
Temporary lane closures and traffic control are anticipated to reconstruct the roadway. Specifics will be presented with the Construction Plan in June 2020.
WHAT IS THE PROJECT COST AND HOW IS IT BEING FUNDED?
The estimated range, including design and construction, is $7,000,000 to $8,000,000. The Project will be funded with local RTC fuel tax dollars.
WHAT UTILITY AND DRAINAGE IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED?
Reconstructing some sections of the roadway may require utility undergrounding and/or drainage modifications. Existing conditions/function will be maintained.
